A dentist who got curious early — and never stopped.
I started in dentistry before digital cameras existed. The internet was being born the same year. I was one of the first implementing CEREC — what today everyone calls digital dentistry. I didn't wait. I just started.
I co-authored the first and second editions of Fundamentals of Color, where I explored digital shade taking long before it was standard. For sixteen years I edited the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. I'm an ITI Fellow and a member of the Neue Gruppe.
I work — and still work — as a consultant for many dental companies. I've been involved in new product development for years. The retractors I designed are used in clinics globally. I was part of the team that developed the Godox DK1 dental flash kit. I test new tools every week in my own practice in Bülach, where I still work full time. Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus — I shoot on all of them, because the goal isn't brand loyalty. It's daily clinical results.
But none of that is what I want to be known for. The same questions kept coming — from colleagues, students, Instagram, YouTube. Good questions. They deserved real answers, not a comment reply. So I started collecting them. Videos, guides, gear reviews, workflow breakdowns.
At some point I realised — this is already a library. It just needed a home. That's The DevigusMethod™. Not theory. Practical advice from daily work. Especially for younger dentists: you have the curiosity. I have the forty years. Between us, we can figure it out.
